RENTON, Wash. — Russell Wilson may be the highest-paid player in the NFL.
ESPN reported that, according to an unnamed source, the quarterback reached an agreement with the Seattle Seahawks in which Wilson agreed to a four-year $140 million extension that includes a $65 million signing bonus.
Wilson's agent, Mark Rodgers, confirmed the $140 million four-year extension to The Associated Press.
Wilson, 30, didn’t get into specifics, but said that he reached a deal with the Seahawks in a video he posted on Twitter.
“Hey Seattle, we got a deal,” Wilson said while lying in bed next to his beaming wife, singer Ciara. “Go Hawks. But I'ma see y'all in the morning. Time for y'all to go to bed. See y’all in the morning.”
Wilson thanked Rodgers hours later in another tweet.
“To Mark Rodgers my agent & father figure... You believed in me 10 years ago when no one else would,” he wrote. “Thanks for being who you are as a man and friend. You are the best in the game.
