— Actor and musician Mickey Jones — known for dozens of character roles in TV and film, and a musical career that yielded numerous Gold records — has died at 76 after “a long illness.”
Jones’ agent Cherry Hepburn confirmed Jones’ death in a statement to Deadline but did not offer specifics on how he died or services.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Jean Starr and their two children, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Jones’ film credits include “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” “Sling Blade,” “Tin Cup,” “Total Recall” and many more; TV credits include “Justified,” “M*A*S*H,” “Home Improvement,” “Baywatch,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Workaholics.”
Jones was a musician long before he ever saw time on a screen according to the New York Daily News. A drummer, Mickey Jones played on tracks like “Secret Agent Man” by Johnny Rivers, “If I Had a Hammer” by Trini Lopez, and “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.
His career of over 20 years started before he was even out of high school and led to over a dozen certified Gold records.
He’d go on to play drums for Bob Dylan, joining the singer-songwriter on his infamous 1966 tour through Europe that saw Dylan called “Judas” for playing with electric instruments in Manchester. Some fans saw the decision as an abandonment of the sound that propelled him to fame.
If you watched TV and movies during the 1980s it was IMPOSSIBLE to miss Mickey Jones, he made memorable appearances in so many shows I loved as a kid. RIP big man.— Halloween Love (@halloween) February 7, 2018

Aw. Ever since I was a kid, I've enjoyed seeing this guy randomly pop up on TV and immediately think "Hey, it's Michael Ironside's sidekick from V!" without ever knowing his name. RIP Mickey Jones. https://t.co/WNuoylErvP pic.twitter.com/fqwyIPadFF— The D.C. Universe (@dcuniverse) February 7, 2018

WINDSOR, Berkshire, United Kingdom — Leading British designer Stella McCartney is a favorite to design the wedding gown for friend Meghan Markle, when she marries Prince Harry at the royal wedding of the century Saturday at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
British bridal designer Carolina Castigliano told Page Six that she believes McCartney, best known for her use of organic materials, precise tailoring and modern feminine clothing, may well have designed Markle’s wedding dress.
Stella McCartney. One of Diana's tiaras. Detachable nine-foot train. Meghan Markle did NOT come to play. https://t.co/Y7DhwWwr8L— Maggie Coughlan (@MaggieCoughlan) May 18, 2018
She’s a “perfect fit for Meghan,” Castigliano said.
“She uses organic fabrics and her ethos is the same as Meghan’s. Her style is very underplayed, her dresses are very clean in style, very much Meghan – and they are friends,” Castigliano said in an interview with Page Six.
Castigliano also told the celebrity magazine that Markle will pair the wedding gown with a tiara from the collection of Princess Diana, Prince Harry’s mother.
“I believe it will be a very straight, fitted dress, with a big 9-foot train that comes off the dress from the side to create the drama, and lace trickling down the top of it,” the bridal designer told Page Six.

— Oddsmakers are taking bets on both the most mundane and the more unusual possible occurrences at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding extravaganza on Saturday at Windsor Castle.
Bets range from the obvious, like who will walk Markle down the aisle now that her father has bowed out, and the color of the Queen’s hat, to whether Markle’s “Suits” co-star Patrick Adams will be there and the name of the couple’s first child.
Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, is favored (3/10) to walk her down the aisle, beating out Prince Charles (6/1) and Prince Philip (14/1). And the odds are the queen will wear a green hat (4/6), according to Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, one of the world’s biggest sports gaming companies.
Paddy Power is offering odds on the royal wedding and gamblers are going wild, rolling the dice on 13 different propositional bets.
It’s a good bet Adams will be there (1/100) and that Victoria (14/1) or Thomas (14/1) will be the name of Harry and Markle’s future royal baby.
But people are also betting on whether Markle will wear a tiara, whether Harry will wear a uniform and if he’ll shave or not.
Paddy Power has suspended the bets on which designer made Markle’s wedding dress because news reports and other Markle gowns indicate it’s a pretty sure bet British designer Ralph & Russo made the gown.
The company makes bets based on news reports and past popularity, according to USA Today.
If you’re feeling lucky, you can cast your lot on what the couple will serve for their main course, whether it will rain, which artist will play for the couple’s first dance or which titles the couple will take once they’re married.
