According to the National Weather Service, a "white Christmas" occurs when there is at least an inch or more of snow on the ground Christmas morning. In Dayton, looking back at the last 30 years we have about a 30 percent chance of seeing this.

Since 1950, there have only been 16 times we classified as having a "white Christmas." The last one was 2010 when there was two inches of snow on the ground Christmas morning.
