Storms prompt watches, warnings in Miami Valley

A strong line of storms that brought severe weather and spawned several tornadoes in northern and central Indiana also led to a tornado warning and watches in the Miami Valley.

The storms weakened as they reached Southwest Ohio, however, there were reports of a tornado in the Toledo area and damages due to the tornado and gusty winds in other parts, according to the National Weather Service.

Locally, scattered storms are expected to taper off early, with skies remaining mostly cloudy and temperatures falling to the lower 70s, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.
