Storm leaves behind fallen trees, debris in Trotwood

TROTWOOD — Wintery conditions are making their way back to the Miami Valley, but Monday night’s storm felt more like spring weather.

High winds, hail and heavy rain left behind a mess to clean up in the area Tuesday morning. While much of the debris after the storm is minor, there are spots where clean up is needed, including the roof of a house in Trotwood where a large branch fell on and the front yard is flooded.

Debbie Ruxer lives in another part of the city that also affected by the rain.

“'The rain felt like it was going to come right through the windows," she said.

From neighbors with flipped garbage cans and large branches still on their roof tops, Ruxer said a little storm damage is still nothing new in the area.

"We have that hear all the time,” she said. “We call this tornado alley right through here. Seems like the wind comes right up through this area here."
