DETAILED FORECAST

Some snow accumulation is possible by daybreak and could lead to problems by the morning commute as temperatures drop to near freezing, StormCenter 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Strong northwest winds will gust more than 30 mph at times, Elwell said.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Auglaize, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Shelby and Wayne (Indiana) counties, which was issued by the National Weather Service through 4 p.m. Thursday.

Thursday: Snow showers likely with gusty winds as high as 40 mph at times. Snow accumulation near 1 inch will be likely along and south of Interstate 70 with 1 to 4 inches possible north. Blowing snow may reduce visibility at times. High temperatures will hold in the lower 30s but wind chill readings will stay in the teens and 20s.

Friday: Scattered snow showers and flurries will remain possible, mainly early. Some clearing will take place toward evening. It will remain cold and blustery with highs in the lower 30s.

Saturday: Skies will become mostly sunny with warmer temperatures expected. Highs will rebound into the middle 40s after a chilly start.

Sunday: The day will start with sunshine but clouds will be on the increase late with a chance for rain late in the day or evening. Highs will soar into the upper 50s with strong, gusty winds out of the southwest up to 40mph.

Monday: A mix of rain and snow will be possible early before precipitation ends by the afternoon. Skies will clear late with cooler temperatures. Highs may occur early in the 40s before dropping into the 30s.
