Record-breaking warm weather recorded in the Miami Valley

The Dayton International Airport broke records for warm temperatures on Monday and Tuesday morning.

Monday morning, the temperature never dropped below 65 degrees according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini said. This broke the previous warmest morning low of 64, set back in 1928.

On Tuesday morning, the Miami Valley also broke another record for the warmest morning low, as The Dayton International Airport never dropped below 66 degrees.

The previous record for the warmest morning low on Oct. 19 was set back in 1947 at 65 degrees.

A strong wind flow out of the south and southwest is responsible for bringing the unseasonable mild air, Zontini said.

The breezy conditions, especially overnight, has helped to keep temperatures from falling.

The official report for Tuesday morning will be released later in the day.
