Elwell: Warm weather pattern may last well into November

Halloween is the midway point between the start of fall and the start of winter.

But this weekend, winter will still seem very far away as temperatures soar into the 70s.

Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said the warm weather could stick around well into November. The latest long-range models are suggesting temperatures may continue to soar anywhere from 10 to 15 degrees above normal through at least the first half of next week.

This outlook continues the weather pattern that Ohio has been under for much of the fall with temperatures hitting the 80s early in the month.

The first half of the month will likely remain above normal, Elwell said. There are signs cold air is building in Canada and at some point that air will head south, he said.

It’s only a matter of when.
