Darrel Gray

I have been involved in broadcast news since the late 70s.  Over time I have worked at most stations in the Dayton area, but now I am working at the Miami Valley News Leader.  I have mostly worked early mornings in radio and that is where I feel most at home.  I enjoy helping folks start their day with the news and information they need.

I first become interested in journalism at a young age.  I can remember reading the Dayton Journal-Herald from front to back as a 7-8 year old child.  I was a "Green Wave", graduating from Greenville High School.  I was fortunate to have a high school radio station at which to work and I also worked at the local FM station.  During my senior year I worked 24 hours on, 24 hours on during The Blizzard of 1978.  They had to transport me in a snowmobile in order to get me to the radio station.

I have been married since 1984 to my wonderful wife, Ruth.  We have four great kids: Grayson (plus his wife Carlie), Carter, Madison, and Spencer.

My family and I love music, laughter, food! and just being together.  I'm a life-long Reds fan and long-suffering Bengals fan.
