Eric Arndt, who performed under the name Enzo Amore, was released by World Wrestling Entertainment on Tuesday following allegations he raped a woman in October while in Phoenix.

According to Joseph Currier of the Wrestling Observer, the Phoenix Police Department confirmed it had responded to a local hospital over a sexual assault that occurred on Oct. 19, 2017 at The Clarendon Hotel and Spa.

The story came to light when Philomena Sheahan, under the Twitter account ‘missgucciwitch’, posted the details of her story on her account. She spoke to TMZ on Tuesday relaying the same details.

Arndt was the current WWE Cruiserweight Champion, the belt for wrestlers under 205 pounds. He was considered the biggest star of WWE’s streaming show “205 Live.” He was scheduled to appear at WWE’s Royal Rumble on Sunday. He was suspended on Monday after the allegations surfaced. WWE announced via its website it had come to terms with Arndt on a contract release.
