Peko’s son arrived before game day, then this happened….

Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko knows the discomfort teammate A.J. Green is feeling with the impending birth of his first child possibly coming on a game day.

Green said Thursday he wouldn’t play if his son, who is due on Sept. 30, is born on a game day, and Peko felt the same when he was expecting his first during his senior year at Michigan State.

But Peko said he avoided the conflict when Domata Jr. was born the day before the game.

“It was against Michigan, so it was a big one and I took one back to the house,” Peko said of a 74-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown that tied the score at 31 in the fourth quarter.

“I did it for my son,” Peko added. “It was awesome.”

Unfortunately for Peko and the Spartans, Michigan won 34-31 in overtime. But he still plays this video for his son from time to time, telling him the TD was for him.
