Ohio State rolls to 3-0 with 45-24 win over Oklahoma

Ohio State waited out a weather delay then crushed Oklahoma 45-24 on Saturday night in Norman.

The third-ranked Buckeyes made it look easy at times, building a 35-17 lead in the first half with a balanced offense and a defense that continued to be stingy and greedy.

J.T. Barrett threw four touchdown passes, all to Noah Brown, who tied the school record for touchdown catches in a game.

Barrett finished with 152 yards passing and 74 yards rushing while Mike Weber ran for 123 yards. Curtis Samuel added 98 yards and a touchdown on the ground while Brown caught five passes for 72 yards.

Ohio State intercepted Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield twice in the first half, and linebacker Jerome Backer returned one of them 68 yards for a touchdown.

Marshon Lattimore also had an interception for Ohio State, which improved to 19-0 on the road under head coach Urban Meyer.

Mayfield finished with 226 yards passing and two touchdowns for the 14th-ranked Sooners.

One of Oklahoma’s touchdowns came on a 97-yard kickoff return on which Joe Mixon appeared to drop the ball just before crossing the goal line.

The game was delayed 90 minutes from its original start time.
