The Browns are 0-2. but there have been positives. Jason McCourty is among them.

Pro Football Focus rates McCourty as one of the best cornerbacks in the league. He hasn’t allowed a catch yet, according to their data.

After being released by the Titans, McCourty signed a two-year deal with the Browns. If he keeps up his current pace, Cleveland may have gotten a steal.

Offshore betting sites already releasing Week 1 SEC lines

Published: Sunday, January 21, 2018 @ 9:37 AM

As usual, the SEC is participating in some pretty big games during 2018’s opening weekend. But if it feels like it might be a little too early for betting sites to be releasing lines for those games, you’d be sorely mistaken.

Yes, even though we’re not even two weeks removed from the 2017 national championship game, at least one betting site — 5Dimes, according to BrianEdwardsSports.com — has early lines out for several Week 1 games, including the biggest games on the SEC slate. Those games include:

Alabama (-30) vs. Louisville

Auburn (-4) vs. Washington

West Virginia (-8) vs. Tennessee

Texas Tech (pick) vs. Ole Miss

Miami (-1) vs. LSU

With the exception of Alabama’s tilt against Louisville, it is looking like a pretty competitive weekend of opening games for the nation’s best conference.

Eddy Pineiro may no longer be with the Gators, but he is still a great representation of the school and program.

The former Florida kicker tweeted out that he had received a Police Service Award from the Gainesville Police Department for breaking up an assault between a male and female.

The award states the following, laying out what Pineiro and his father did to prevent the situation.

“On October 15th 2017 at 2:21 AM, dispatch advised a male was chasing a female in the area of 1700 SW 37th Street. The investigation concluded that the female was being a victim of dating violence by her boyfriend. She was thrown to the ground, violently punched and choked. Her screams to anyone to help awoke Eddy Pineiro Jr.. Eddy looked outside and witnessed the violent crime. Without visitation, he yelled to his father, who was visiting from Miami, and told him he was going to help her. They both ran down three flights of stairs and across the propert to intervene. As they were approaching, the female was able to escape the grasp of her attacker and flee. The suspect gave chase and was able to catch her. At the this same time, Eddy Pineiro Jr. caught up and was able to grab the attacker off of the victim. This gave the victim a chance to leave the area without further violence to her. Due to Eddy Pineiro Jr. and Eddy Pineiro Sr.’s selfless acts and extreme bravery, the victim was saved from possible severe injuries or even death. Eddy Pineiro Jr. continued to help with the case and as a result, the suspect is serving jail time for his actions. They are both hereby awarded the Police Service Award.

Pineiro decided to enter the draft after Florida’s season.

Ramsen Golpashin-UCLA-Chip Kelly-Coaching staf

Ramsen Golpashin, a former Oregon Ducks offensive lineman under Chip Kelly, has reportedly joined his former coach’s staff at UCLA.

Golpashin didn’t make much noise as a lineman for Oregon from 2007-11. His senior year, which saw Oregon win the Rose Bowl over Wisconsin, was cut short due to a knee injury just two weeks into the season.

The former Ducks’ lineman spent last season on the Cal coaching staff.

LOOK: Louisville fans melt down after near-epic collapse against BC

The Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball program was living on high as they road an 18-point lead into the final 2:32 of action on Sunday against Boston College but the next two minutes and change left the fan base aghast.

Louisville went on to win the game 77-69, but that final score doesn’t exactly lend itself to exactly how stressful the ending was. Boston College went on a barrage and cut the lead to two points when Jordan Chatman hit a three for the Eagles to make it 71-69 with 28.7 seconds to play.

And Twitter was going crazy the entire time.

Louisville improved to 15-4 on the season and are in second place in the ACC by themselves with a 5-1 record in conference play. Only Virginia (6-0) is in front of the Cardinals.

However, there’s still a general sense of confusion over this team’s identity. Louisville hasn’t yet defeated a team that is currently ranked as of Sunday, but all four of their losses have come to teams that were in the AP Top 25 on Sunday (Purdue, Seton Hall, Kentucky and Clemson).

They’ll be tested each of the next two Wednesday with road trips to No. 25 Miami and No. 2 Virginia on the schedule. But if they play like they did for those two minutes on Sunday, they’ll get run out of the building in those games.
