DAYTON — The Dayton Flyers ran off 20 straight points in the second half and then held on for an 83-70 victory against George Mason on Tuesday at UD Arena.
Star of the game: John Crosby led the Flyers during the big run. He finished with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
Stat of the game: The Flyers committed only five turnovers. George Mason had 17.
Big picture: Dayton’s seniors won their 100th game. The Flyers improved to 22-5 and 13-2 in the Atlantic 10 with three games left in the regular season. They took a half game lead over idle VCU, which hosts Saint Louis on Wednesday.
The Dayton Flyers built a 38-31 halftime lead over George Mason on Tuesday at UD Arena.
UD’s star: Nine players scored for the Flyers. Xeyrius Williams and Charles Cooke each have seven points.
George Mason’s star: Otis Livingston II leads the Patriots with nine points. He made 3 of 10 shots from the field.
Key stat: The Flyers have two turnovers. George Mason has eight.
Big run: George Mason took its first lead, 14-13, on a 3-pointer by Livingston at the 12:25 mark. Dayton responded with an 8-2 run and led the rest of the half. The Flyers’ biggest lead was 33-23.
Foul trouble: No one on either team has more than two fouls.
