Rainy weather and dropping temperatures didn’t stop viewers of this year’s Super Bowl from coming out to enjoy the game, and Oregon District bars were already filling up Sunday evening. But some opted to stay home amid rainy conditions and the threat of freezing precipitation overnight into Monday morning.
“Normally on Super Bowl Sunday, we go over to a Super Bowl party or stay home and have a lot of snack foods,” said Dirk Roburn, Sr., who was at Blind Bob’s Bar on Fifth Street downtown. “This year we decided to come down to Blind Bob’s. We really don’t care who wins the game this year, so it’s more about food and fun than the game I guess.”
Andy Rowe, a manager at the bar, said he anticipates filling more take-out orders than usual this year because of the weather.
