A cold rain is falling Friday night across the Miami Valley. As colder air continues to filter into the area, the rain is expected to mix with and perhaps to change to snow briefly before ending. While a quick coating is possible, the snow should melt quickly with no icy problems expected.

A wintry mix is possible overnight but no accumulation is expected. It will be chilly with temperatures dropping into the mid-30s by morning, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said. Rain showers are expected to end by early Saturday.
