Power still out after tornado in Greene County

UPDATE @ 10:15 a.m. May 27

Dayton Power and Light is still working to restore power to nearly 100 customers affected by Tuesday’s severe weather as well as dealing with new outages from this morning.

Power is not expected to be restored for 95 Greene County customers until this afternoon as a DP&L crew works to make repairs. The outage is focused in the residential area behind Kmart

More than 1,000 lost power this morning in Shelby County after a problem occurred at the Ft. Loramie substation.

The cause was not immediately known. A DP&L crew was able to switch customers over and quickly restored power to all but about 624 customers.

In Montgomery County, 206 customers were without power in Miamisburg.

The outage occurred at 7:30 a.m. and was located in the area of Ohio 741.

Tuesday afternoon’s tornado and severe weather caused power outages in several counties in the Miami Valley. As many as 3,000 Dayton Power & Light customers experienced outages.

Power is being restored throughout the region. Below is the list of counties that still have customers without power (As of 9:45 a.m. Wednesday):

Greene: 139

Montgomery: 210
