Storms hitting Indianapolis causing major street flooding

Indianapolis is being hit with what is being described on Twitter as “major street flooding” tonight, with vehicles in some cases sitting in water nearly up to their windows.

WISH-TV in Indianapolis Tweeted a startling photo of flooding at Castleton Square Mall.

According to cbs4indy.com, several central Indiana counties are under a flash flood warning at least until 9:15 p.m.

The heavy rain hit just two days after six tornadoes hit central Indiana. In Kokomo, at least 80 homes were destroyed after an EF-3 and EF-0 hit that area, WISH-TV reported tonight.

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said there may be some isolated showers in our region this evening, but nothing like what’s happening in Indianapolis.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Butler County until 9 p.m.
