VIDEO: Rare earthquake near Lima captured on ODOT cameras

ALLEN COUNTY — The United States Geological Survey reported a minor earthquake near Lima in Allen County early Friday morning.

The 2.4 Magnitude earthquake was recorded by the USGS at 12:22 a.m. Friday, with the epicenter located on the west side of Lima in Fort Shawnee.

While no damage has been reported, several people in the area reported hearing and feeling the minor quake since it was so close to a populated area.

Friday’s earthquake falls on the lower end of the Richter Scale, where quakes are normally not felt but are recorded on a seismograph.

Ohio Department of Transportation cameras along I-75 captured some of the ground shaking and released footage on social media platforms.
