Severe weather moves through the Great Plains

Severe weather caused some damage in parts of western Kansas on Friday.

The storms knocked down some power lines and trees, and caused some property damage.  Large hail was one of the causes of damage.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

LOCAL: Rain, storms return to the area Saturday

A strong cold front is expected to enter our area Saturday evening, which will bring with it numerous showers and storms. Gusty winds will develop ahead of the front.

Showers and storms will move into the area Saturday between 6 p.m. and midnight. A few storms could produce strong winds and locally heavy rainfall. The rain should exit the Miami Valley by early Sunday morning.
