Sheriff’s captain: Child on school bus thought she saw mother grabbed into vehicle

WASHINGTON TWP. — UPDATE @ 8:13 a.m. 

A 911 call released and information from a sheriff’s office captain provide clarity on a Washington Twp. incident this morning.

A juvenile girl called 911 to report, “the mailman grabbed my mom.” The girl said she had forgotten something for school and texted her mother to bring it out.

“She came outside ... and he took her,” the girl said.

The girl was on the school bus when she claims to have seen this happen. She stayed on the school bus.

A sheriff’s captain tells our newsroom as soon as deputies arrived they quickly verified everyone was safe.

UPDATE @ 7:46 a.m.

A father on scene tells News Center 7 the family member was actually inside the house at the time, and the reportee to 911 was mistaken.

FIRST REPORT

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies are on scene on East Social Row Road investigating a reported kidnapping.

Around 6:52 a.m. Thursday, a woman called police to report her daughter had been kidnapped by a mailman.

The child is a white female with brown hair last seen wearing pajamas, according to emergency dispatch traffic.

The regional dispatch center confirmed deputies were on scene just after 7 a.m.
