Oxford police seek suspect in armed robbery

UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.

Oxford police are asking for help identifying a suspect who robbed the First American Loans, 5146 College Corner Pike, today.

Officers were dispatched to a silent alarm at about 12:11 p.m. at the business.

While officers were en route, dispatch received a 911 call from the employee at the business who reported she had been robbed at gunpoint.

The employee said the male suspect fled out the back door of the building, according to police.

Police dogs attempted to track the suspect but had not luck.

Nearby schools — Kramer Elementary and the McGuffey Montessori School — were advised of the situation and encouraged to enact their safety procedures.

It is believed the suspect got into a silver sedan that was parked behind the business and fled the area. The suspect is described as a blacke male, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a tan ball cap.

If anyone has information, contact OPD at 513-524-5240 or leave a message on the Crime Tip line at 513-524-5268.
