Isolated showers possible before dawn

The steadiest of the precipitation is pushing south and east, out of the area, StormCenter 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

“We may see a few isolated stray showers pass through before dawn as the actual cold front sweeps through,” Vrydaghs said.

Earlier this evening, a light mix of sleet and rain was falling in parts of the area, including Dayton. Temperatures were above freezing, so this shouldn’t have led to any problems on the roads.

Overnight, temperatures will slowly fall into the upper 30s, staying above freezing.

Monday: It will be a much nicer day, with sunshine and the morning and highs climbing into the mid-50s. Skies turn cloudy in the afternoon. A few stray showers are possible in the northern Miami Valley, but most should stay dry. Temperatures should hold in the 40s throughout the night.

Tuesday: Temperatures are expected to climb into Tuesday, with highs in the lower 60s. It will be partly cloudy and windy, but a mild day for the most part.

Wednesday: High pressure will deliver another dry and warm day, with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures are expected to peak right around 60 degrees.

Thursday: A developing system will bring showers and storms to the area. The threat is low, but localized downpours and windy conditions are likely to accompany thunderstorms. Temperatures will climb into the upper 60s, and possible low 70s for southern counties.

Friday: A cold front is expected to move into the area, and different outcomes are possible, according to Vrydaghs. Depending on the placement of this front, we could either see cooler air and showers, or warmer air and the threat of thunderstorms. StormCenter 7 meteorologists will be watching this in the coming days, but Vrydaghs said it is safe to say that it will rain at times with temperatures in the 50s.
