Here are the current length of backups, according to OhGo traffic cameras:

I675: Northbound (past North Fairfield Road) - 3 Miles

I75: Northbound (past Dixie) - 5 Miles

Southbound (to Benchwood) - 9 Miles

UPDATE @ 4:18 p.m.

Traffic along I-675 North just south of the Dayton Yellow Springs Road exit will be limited for several hours because of the accident that took out an overhead traffic sign and the diesel spill that resulted because of the accident, a Fairborn fire official said.

Sandy’s Towing is on scene, removing the truck.

A crew with the Ohio Department of Transportation won’t be on scene for two hours and that the cleanup will take nearly three hours before all of the lanes will be reopened. One lane is to remain open throughout the evening, according to police.

The spill has reached a creek just off the interstate, officials said, and that is the reason for the prolonged cleanup.

According to a preliminary investigation, the truck driver possibly fell asleep. The truck was carrying a steel roll. The driver is lucky to be alive, the fire official said, in that the sign didn’t come through the cab and kill him.

UPDATE @ 3:41 p.m.

The northbound lanes are now shut down and the clean up effort is expected to take at least an hour.
