BUTLER TWP., Darke Co. —

Rescue officials say a woman was flown to the hospital after crashing her SUV on an icy road in Darke County today.

At about 10 a.m., Tri Village Rescue workers and Sheriff's deputies were called to state route 121 near New Madison on reports of a wreck with entrapment.

Deputies say the female driver spun out on a curb before leaving the roadway and hitting a tree. She was thrown into the back of her vehicle, where she was rescued.

Investigators say she wasn't wearing a seat belt.

CareFlight was used to transport the woman to a local hospital, her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash was believed to be weather related, as snow was seen drifting across the road where it occurred.
