Slick spots possible as temps drop overnight

Overnight, a few light flurries can’t be ruled out, mainly for the far south of the Miami Valley, said StormCenter 7 Meteorologist Carrieann Marit.

Clouds will break towards morning, and there may be some light and patchy fog in low lying areas.

“Drivers will want to watch for slick spots due to refreeze, especially on back and side streets as well as bridges and overpasses,” Marit said.

Monday: Slick spots are likely for the morning commute, particularly on side roads, bridges and overpasses. A mix of sun and clouds is expected through the day with highs in the upper 20s, approaching 30 degrees.

Tuesday: The next storm system moves in during the day along a warm front. Light rain or freezing rain is possible Tuesday morning, but temperatures quickly climb above freezing into the mid-40s. Scattered rain showers are possible throughout the day, becoming heavy at times in the evening and overnight. Gusty winds are expected as well. There is concern for localized flooding because of a fairly fresh snowpack from Sunday plus heavy rain into Tuesday night.

Wednesday: Showers taper down. A wintry mix is possible as temperatures fall to around 30 degrees by morning. It will be mostly cloudy and breezy as cold air builds back in. Showers can't be ruled out moving through Butler, Warren counties at times through the day. Temperatures will fall from the 30s to the 20s.

Thursday: High pressure builds in, allowing for quiet weather, but it will stay colder than normal for the end of the week. Temperatures start in the upper single digits and climb to around 20 with some sun.

Friday: Temperatures start in the low single digits once again. Lots of sun will be diminished as clouds increase late. Highs will be in the upper 20s.
