FIRST TAKE

Showers or thunderstorms are expected this afternoon as temperatures rise into the mid 80s, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

It'll be breezy at times as the clouds increase and thicken. Tonight showers and storms could be more numerous, with mild and muggy conditions with lows around 70.

Rain will likely start the day Sunday and won't taper down until the evening, Zontini said. Highs will be around 80 with mostly cloudy skies turning partly cloudy. Lows will again be around 70.S

Some dry weather is expected on Labor Day.

"A warm, moist air mass will still be around so a few showers are possible late Monday," Zontini said. "A better chance for rain comes late Tuesday, with highs in the mid 80s."

A cold front is expected to move through Tuesday, bringing scattered showers and storms and highs in the mid 80s.

Wednesday should be a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low 80s.
