Reports: Incoming plane with tire fire lands safely

UPDATE @11 a.m.:

Dayton International Airport officials said American Airlines Flight 5305 from Charlotte to Milwaukee made an emergency landing in Dayton after a sensor indicted there was smoke near a tire.

Once the plane landed, the sensor was repaired and the flight continued onto Milwaukee.

No one was injured.

UPDATE @10:10 a.m.:

American Airlines confirmed that 74 people were on board the plane that made an emergency landing in Dayton, according to WSOC TV, our sister station in Charlotte.

Flight 5305 was traveling from Charlotte to Milwaukee when it made an emergency landing at Dayton International Airport.

The airline said it is evaluating the mechanical issue with the plane.

There were no injuries.

UPDATE @ 9:10 a.m.: Reports indicate the plane has landed safely. Airport officials said the plane is operated by American Airlines. There are no injuries.

FIRST REPORT: Emergency crews are responding to the Dayton International Airport for reports of an incoming plane with a tire on fire.
