Puppy reunited with family after owner killed in crash

A tiny puppy who survived the semi crash that killed his owner has been reunited with the man’s family.

The Jack Russell mix, named Petey, was riding with Robert Major on Interstate 71 in Greene County on Wednesday morning.

Major’s semi slammed into the back of another one. Rescue workers found Petey unhurt in the crushed cab.

Major’s family in Kentucky said they know how much he cared for Petey, and having the dog back is a small miracle.

“This little piece of my brother, he’s still with you,” said Leslie Major, Robert’s sister.

Major was a Navy veteran and a family man, devoted to his wife and stepdaughter.

His memorial services are planned for this weekend.
