Power restored to Montgomery and Logan counties

UPDATE: @ 5:45 a.m.:

A DP&L spokesperson says both power outages in Montgomery and Logan counties are being blamed on rain and moisture in the atmosphere.

Power in Montgomery County was restored around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday after work was completed by crews near Taywood and Westbrook Roads according to Tom Catham with DP&L.

Around 600 customers in Logan County lost power around midnight, but crews restored power to all customers by 4 a.m. Wednesday.

UPDATE @ 4:45 a.m.:

Most of the power has been restored to Logan County as well, according to an online outage map.

Officials have not identified the cause of either outage in Montgomery or Logan counties.

UPDATE @ 3:15 a.m.:

Power has been restored nearly all DP&L customers in Montgomery County following an outage centered around Clayton and Englewood. No official word has been given on a cause.

According to the utility’s online map, over 600 customers are currently without power in Logan County.

We are checking into this report and will update when new information is available.

FIRST REPORT

More than 1,900 Dayton Power & Light customers in the areas of Clayton and Englewood are without power and crews are working to pinpoint the cause.

DP&L Spokesman Tom Tatham said calls reporting outages began coming in to the utility just after 9 p.m.

According to the utility’s Web page, 1,920 outages were reported in Montgomery County at 9:30 p.m.

Crews are in the area, working to locate the problem, he said.
