Porch collapses at Wyoming St. apartment

UPDATE @ 12:50 p.m.:

From our crew at the scene, two men were working to refinish the front porch. One man told News Center 7’s Adam Marshall that they may have hit a support beam. The porch collapsed and trapped the other man. He was trapped for a short time and was taken to a local hospital. No word yet on his injuries. We’ll continue to gather more information and have updates as they come in.

FIRST REPORT: 12:25 p.m.

Multiple crews responded to the intersection of Wyoming and St. Paul streets in Dayton beginning at 12:19 p.m. on the report of a roof collapse. When firefighters got to the scene, they reported the entire front porch of a two-story brick apartment complex had collapsed, with one person injured. Checking the building, the crews found no other person trapped, and cancelled the remaining crews which were on their way to the scene.

One male victim was treated for injuries. We have a crew on the way and will have more on WHIO.com and the complete story on News Center 7 beginning at 5 p.m.
