UPDATE@11:30 p.m.: The female passenger in a motorcycle crash was in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital, sheriff's Sgt. Rick Moebius said.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 35-year-old male failed to maintain reasonable control of his 2000 Honda motorcycle while headed east on Fair Oaks and the bike struck the pavement.

The female, 33, was thrown. A witness tells us the female may have landed on her head.

The male was treated at the scene, Moebius said.

The accident occurred at about 5:55 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.

EARLIER: A motorcycle crash in Harrison Twp. on Monday evening left a passenger seriously injured.

The crash occurred at about 6:20 p.m. at Fair Oaks and Pine Ridge roads.

Witnesses told News Center 7 the motorcycle, with two passengers, was headed east of Fair Oaks when the driver apparently lost control.

The female passenger was taken to a hospital, said Sgt. Rick Moebius, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
