Cheryl McHenry reports from Afghanistan

News Center 7’s Cheryl McHenry is back from a whirlwind mission to Afghanistan, flying with a crew the 445th Airlift Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB. Tonight in our 90 minutes of news beginning at 5 p.m., Cheryl talks with various members of the military on the trip, discussing their feelings about the U.S. and NATO’s changing mission in Afghanistan.

Dayton Daily News Military Affairs reporter Barrie Barber and News Center 7 videographer Bob Garlock flew the 12,000 mile mission with Cheryl from December 31 to January 4. This Sunday in the Dayton Daily News, Barber takes a deep dive into the mission with an overview of the journey and what it’s like to fly onboard a C-17.
