CareFlight called for Miami Co. crash victim

UPDATE @ 9:20 p.m.:

A 24-year-old flown to Miami Valley Hospital following a crash this afternoon on state Route 718 was listed in fair condition tonight.

Dylan Fugate, who lives near Pleasant Hill, was the driver of a red car that struck a black pickup truck at the Stewart Road intersection. There were no other injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

UPDATE @ 4:23 p.m.:

A man on his way to work this afternoon was driving on Stewart Road when he turned onto state Route 718 into the path of a pickup truck.

The car driver was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The pickup driver was not hurt.

The crash happened at 3 p.m. two miles west of Pleasant Hill. State Route 718 was shut down for about an hour.

The crash remains under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

FIRST REPORT

A medical helicopter landed this afternoon at a Miami County high school to meet a traffic crash victim.

The crash was reported at 3 p.m. at Stewart Road at state Route 718.

CareFlight was called to Newton High School, 201 N. Long St., according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office

According to initial reports, one person was pinned in the wreckage.
