3-legged golden retriever joins family as service dog

Rana has no idea she’s different.

The 3-legged golden retriever has gone extensive training with 4 Paws 4 Ability to become a service dog.

And this week, she’s meeting her new family – including two children who have prosthetics themselves.

Her new home will be with the Filburn family out of Lewisburg. They have 10 children, two of whom are bilateral amputees.

Kristy Fulburn says her children have been able to overcome and conquer that disability and do things people thought they could never do.

“Rana’s special because she’s proving the same thing,” she said.

The dog is trained in behavior disruption. She uses kiss to stop a child’s cries.

She’ll graduate next Friday.
