DP&L crews respond to widespread outage in Vandalia

UPDATE @ 11:49 a.m.:

Most of the outage has been restored, but power was still out at McDonalds, Shell gas station and the Super 8 motel, according to our photographer on scene.

A DP&L crew is working on repairs on Atom Place.

FIRST REPORT:

Thousands of Dayton Power and Light customers are without power after a transformer reportedly blew in Vandalia.

Crews were sent to the area behind the Super 8 Motel for lines down on Atom Place.

DP&L reports 3,706 customers were without power at 11:20 a.m.

Power was out for most if not all of the central business district, according to a Vandalia emergency dispatcher.
