Two men arrested after crash, wanted by Immigration

Two men were arrested by Dayton Police on Monday morning at 3:30 a.m. after a crash at E. Third and S. Van Lear streets.

When police arrived, witnesses said two hispanic males ran from the scene.

Police found Walter Miranda, 37, described as the driver, hiding in the bushes nearby. A passenger, Luis Miranda-Picado, 45 was found staggering with a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, according to the police report.

Miranda is being held on a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer, along with misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and having an expired license.

Miranda-Picado is facing similar charges, including the ICE detainer.
