Truck driver robbed at Love’s Truck Stop

Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a truck driver at Love’s Truck Stop and stealing $220 dollars from him, according to a Dayton police report.

The report said the man was leaving the business after eating, when a white man believed to be in his 50s approached him and demanded cash. The man initially refused to give him money and that’s when the robber pulled out a handgun and held it to the truck drivers head, the report said. The victim gave him the money he had.

The victim described the suspect as a white male, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans and appeared to be homeless, according to the report. He was believed to be approximately six feet tall and weighed between 175-200 pounds, the report said.

The robber reportedly fled south from the business.

The victim said the robber was seen with another white male, wearing a black jacket and hat, prior to the robbery asking other truck drivers for money.

Police searched known homeless camps and known abandoned houses in the area, but were unable to locate any suspects.
