1 injured, 1 arrested in N. Philadelphia St. stabbing

UPDATE @ 6a.m.:

Dayton Police say a man suffered serious injuries when he was stabbed multiple times in the chest on North Philadelphia Street.

Officers have not been able to identify the victim, and he was taken directly into surgery at Miami Valley Hospital according to Dayton Police Sgt. Roberta Bailey.

Bailey says a suspect has been arrested and is currently being questioned by detectives, but has not yet been charged. The suspect was also treated and released from Miami Valley Hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

Police continue to investigate, and are unsure what events led up to the incident.

UPDATE @ 5:15 a.m.:

Dayton Police say they have one man in custody after a stabbing on North Philadelphia Street.

Police add they have not been able to identifying the victim, but they suffered serious injuries and were transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

Officers also took the suspect to Miami Valley Hospital after sustaining injuries. It’s unclear how the suspect sustained those injuries, and there was no word on his condition.

FIRST REPORT

Dayton Police and medics have responded to a stabbing reported in the 1st block of North Philadelphia Street.

Crews were dispatched around 3:45 a.m. Saturday when a homeowner saw the victim outside their house. Officers have also requested a second medic to the scene.

Initial reports indicate police are looking in the neighborhood and might have a suspect in custody.
