Second apparent drive-by shooting under investigation

Dayton police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting – just blocks from the scene where three people were hurt about 24 hours earlier.

A man was shot in the leg around 3:30 a.m. today in the area of Huffman Avenue.

Police say his injury is not life-threatening. They only identified him as a 56-year-old.

Officers are working to determine what happen and they say they have little information to go on right now.

They also have to figure out where the shooting took place. The victim may have walked for a block before being picked up by medics in the 100 block of Huffman.

The three people shot late Sunday night told officers they were walking in the area of East Fifth and South Torrence streets when someone fired at them from a green van.

Police say there is no indication the two shootings are related.
