Driver flees rollover crash after girlfriend ejected

A West Milton area man is in the Miami County Jail facing a long list is charges stemming from an early Sunday rollover crash near his home.

The scene was Markley Road just west of Davis Road in Union Twp.

Deputies apprehended driver Dominick Jennings, 30, running from the scene, leaving behind his injured girlfriend, 26-year-old Kristy Ullery, who was ejected from the sport-utility vehicle when it rolled over into a farm field.

Jennings is jailed on potential charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, drug possession, obstructing official business, failure to control and drug paraphernalia.

Ullery was flown from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where she was treated and released.

Deputies seized suspected cocaine and marijuana and what was described in a sheriff’s report as a “large sum of money.”

The incident remains under investigation.

CareFlight was requested to a rollover crash in West Milton that injured two people.

Deputies say an SUV rolled over twice around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Markley and Davis Roads in West Milton, ejecting the passenger.

The medical helicopter was requested to the scene for the passenger, who was flown with a head injury to Miami Valley Hospital. Sgt. Randy Slusher of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office said her injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver fled the scene on foot, but was pointed out by witnesses to deputies, and was quickly apprehended. The driver also suffered minor injuries, and was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center.

Slusher said the driver and passenger were expected to be released from the hospitals later this morning.

Deputies say alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.

The driver will be cited with OVI and failure to control. Drugs reportedly were found at the scene of the crash, and additional charges to the driver for possession are pending, according to the sheriff’s office.
