Activities to resume at Greeneview Local after threat

UPDATE @ 8:36 p.m. March 29:

Greeneview Local Schools issued a phone call alert tonight to notify district parents that all school activities on Monday will go on as planned.

A threat on Friday canceled activities for this weekend, but the superintendent says there is no safety concern for students or staff.

Although this week is spring break, all buildings will be open and all activities will go on as scheduled.

The district and Jamestown police are continuing to investigate where the threat came from that was discovered late Friday afternoon.

FIRST REPORT

Police were called to Greeneview Local Schools this evening to investigate a threat of violence.

This was not a bomb threat, according to the Jamestown police chief, but further details were not given.

A district principal received information that violence toward the district was a possibility, and notified the superintendent.

All school activities were canceled for the weekend and staff sent home as of 4:30 p.m. District parents were notified through a phone call alert.

It has not been confirmed which Greeneview building was threatened.
