Clown mask robber gets 10 years in prison

A man who wore a clown mask and used a shotgun to rob a Huber Heights convenience store will spend the next decade behind bars.

Michael C. Paxson, 28, was sentenced to seven years for aggravated robbery plus three years for a gun specification. He was convicted in the May 10 robbery at Speedway, 6000 Brandt Pike.

A man who wore a clown mask and used a shotgun to rob a convenience store was convicted Wednesday morning.

Michael C. Paxson, 28, was found guilty on one count of aggravated robbery and one count of having weapons while under disability for the May 10 robbery. Judge Mary Wiseman of the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court presided over the case.

UPDATE @ 9:40 p.m. (May 10):

Police say a man who wore a clown mask to hold up a Speedway was caught a short time later.

Huber Heights police were called around 4:30 p.m. to the gas station, 6000 Brandt Pike, after a masked man with a shotgun robbed the store while several patrons were inside, according to a news release.

Witnesses provided good information, and police were able to find the suspect’s getaway vehicle — a gray Dodge Dakota — that fled east on Fishburg Road. Police found the suspect in the 5400 block of Bellefontaine Road, police said.

Michael C. Paxson, 28, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery.

A robber wearing a clown mask armed with a shotgun held up a Speedway gas station in Huber Heights.

Police were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to 6000 Brandt Pike.

The suspect was described as a man wearing all black in a clown mask who showed a .350 shotgun. He fled east on Fishburg Road in a gray Dodge Dakota, according to initial reports.
