Phones, cash stolen in Marathon break-in

Cell phones and $450 were stolen from the North Main Street Marathon station after police said a brick was used to break into the business.

Officers responded around 6:30 a.m. to the gas station, 1845 N. Main St., after receiving a call from two people who arrived to find the front door of the business busted out, according to a Dayton police report.

Police found the steel roll up security door had been tampered with during the crime as well, the report said.

A display case of cell phones was destroyed and the cash register was damaged during the incident.

The store’s workers were not sure how many phones may have been stolen, the report said.
