Man arrested for theft from Springfield business

By Breaking News Staff

A man is facing charges after deputies say he broke into vehicles at a Springfield business.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office received numerous complaints of vehicles that were broken into while being stored at Payless Storage, 111 Tremont City Road, on July 17. Deputies found that at least two victims reported damage to their trailers and three more victims reported someone forcibly entered their trailers and stole property, according to a release.

Michael L. Wells, 53, of Springfield, was arrested on three counts of theft, a fifth-degree felony, and five counts of criminal trespassing, a second degree felony. Deputies said Wells is a renter at Payless Storage and had stolen property inside his unit.

The case is still under investigation.
