Drug making material found in Xenia house

Police shut down a portion of Drake Drive in Xenia Sunday night for an investigation of a drug house.

Police were first dispatched for a drug investigation around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of Drake Drive when officers found what appeared to be drug making material.

Captain Jason Kinley with the Xenia Fire Division says they were requested by police as a precaution to help safely remove the materials from the home. Kinley says the materials removed appeared to be chemicals used for making crystal meth.

Police and firefighters cleared the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Monday and say the area is now safe.

There were no reports of any evacuations in the area and police did not say if they made any arrests.
