“The members of the Dayton Police Department are keeping our brothers and sisters from the Cincinnati Police Department in our thoughts and prayers as they deal with the death of veteran police officer, Sonny Kim. I knew Officer Kim personally, serving with him when I was a police lieutenant, captain and assistant chief with the Cincinnati Police Department. Officer Sonny Kim was a great police officer – disciplined, hardworking, dedicated to his community and his profession. His tragic death is a deep loss for his family, friends, and all that know him and for all whom he helped in his 27 years of service to the city of Cincinnati.

As information on Officer Kim’s funeral arrangements come together in the coming days, the Dayton Police Department will prepare to send representatives to the funeral to honor Officer Kim’s service and sacrifice.”
