Centerville police: Girl, 13, run over by sister

A 13-year-old girl was run over by a car her 18-year-old sister was driving in an accident police believe occurred during horseplay, police said.

Centerville police Officer John Davis said the siblings were horsing around, with the younger one either trying to jump onto or into a four-door sedan in the vicinity of 51 Loganwood Drive, according to preliminary investigation.

The car ran over the 13-year-old’s legs, but the injuries are considered to be non-life threatening, Davis said. The child is at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Davis said the incident remains under investigation because officers are still trying to get a clear explanation about what happened.
