Can you ID suspect in Franklin burglary, chase?

Police seek the public’s help to identify a “person of interest” in a burglary and high-speed chase early Friday up Interstate 75.

The incident started when a Warren County deputy at 3:45 a.m. saw two men breaking into the Sunoco Gas Station, 6900 N. Ohio 123, in Franklin. The deputy was transporting a prisoner and wasn’t able to stop.

Franklin and Springboro officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop the suspect, which headed north at high speed on I-75. The pursuit continued east on U.S. 35, but officers lost sight of the car after the suspect got off the highway on the east side of Dayton.

FIRST REPORT (April 24)

A Warren County deputy transporting a prisoner spotted two men breaking into Sunoco in Franklin early this morning.

Franklin and Springboro police chased one of the burglary suspects into Dayton. A second suspect fled the area on foot.

Surveillance video shows one of the men break the glass around 4 a.m. and enter the store on Ohio 123.

The suspect put cigarettes into a trash bag before fleeing in the vehicle.

The pursuit went up Interstate 75 to U.S. 35. Speeds were reported as high as 120 mph.

Police tried to track the second man who fled on foot with a police canine.
