2 sought in robbery of donut shop in Dayton

UPDATE @ 10:51 p.m.: Police are looking for two males in the armed robbery of The Donut Palace on James H. McGee Boulevard.

Dayton Sgt. John Riegel said the same business was robbed two months ago and police are working the theory that tonight’s crime and the prior incident may be connected.

Police recovered guns and a mask in an alley near the store, Riegel said.

Three people initially detained were freed because police were able to determine they were not involved in the robbery. If you have information about the robbery, you are asked to call police at (937) 333-COPS or (937) 225-4357.

FIRST REPORT

Three people are being detained by police and a K-9 has been dispatched on a report of an armed robbery at The Donut Palace.

The three were returned to the business to be identified by the victim, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch. What is not clear is whether the people detained by police will be booked into the Montgomery County Jail

Police were sent to the store, 100 N. James H. McGee Blvd., about 8:40 p.m.

We have a crew on scene. We will update this report as we get information.
